This year is going to be action packed ... check out the Tournament Calendar now CLICK HERE

Scottvale Park in Rockhampton will host the QJC and Q Open.

The Q Open looks likely to rise in status which will hopefully see some of the best players in Australia participating.

The Queensland Sharks will be shooting for National Team Title #7 when they travel to Alice Springs in September.

However, before that the juniors will participate in the National Junior Series in Adelaide in April.

The Stingrays will travel to Melbourne to participate in the National Teams Championship.

In Brisbane the interclub competition is available for all to see on squashmatrix.com

Cairns also record their competition results through matrix.

Brisbane Northside and Southside experienced some difficult times in 2009. Efforts are still being made to join the two Northside competitions.

I invite any players who stopped playing the game in 2009 to seriously consider returning. Squash offers so many health benefits and the competition needs you.

Standards only get better when everyone is playing in the one competition. It doesn't matter how good you are. A C Grade player is just as important as an A Grade player. The availability of COMPETITION is the key to improving and contributing to the building of a standard.

The more competition the greater the standard becomes. That standard is what helps our best players emerge victorious in higher forms of competition.

Affiliation is also important to our sport. Your affiliation helps Q Squash to run competitions and facilitate our best players being able to represent their Region, their State and ultimately Australia.

Every dollar is vital ... Q Squash receives no State Development Funding and is reliant on money it raises through running competitions and collecting affiliation.

Participation in National Competitions never gets any cheaper. If you are in a position to sponsor a child or a team I urge you to contact me. If you are in a good financial position you are very fortunate.

If you could help someone less fortunate it is amazing the difference it can make to a young person.

It is definitely a very nice feeling to know you have helped another human being to achieve a milestone which is so important to their development.

I wish you well with your squash and I hope 2010 brings success to all squashies both on and off the court.

Best wishes
